Through Computing/ICT students are taught a range of skills focusing on a wide variety of technologies. Students are taught skills in word-processing, databases, spreadsheet modelling, the internet, E-Safety / cyberbullying, Powerpoint presentations, desk-top publishing and computer programming. ICT is taught to all year groups across Key Stages 3 and 4 and is currently taught to year 12 and year 13 in the 6th Form. In Years 10 and 11, students follow an external accreditation course.
As well as using a wide range of software programs, students use a range of multimedia including digital cameras, video cameras, iPads and iPods. All our computers are linked via the wireless network and individual students have their own personal space on the network to store all their work. Our ICT equipment is updated on a regular basis to keep up-to-date with the ever changing technological world.
Most classrooms and the ICT suite have interactive TV's to assist with teaching and learning and there are at least four computers in all classroom bases.
Students study suitable accredited courses at Entry Level and Functional Skills Level 2 (where appropriate).
