Mathematics is delivered as a core subject to all students in Years 7 to 11 and also in the sixth form.
In Mathematics lessons, specific work is not designated for a particular year group since ability varies from group to group and year to year. Lessons are adapted to suit the needs of the students.
Problem solving is embedded into the Maths curriculum using practical situations in order to understand the importance of Maths in everyday life. MOST IMPORTANTLY... we have fun when learning!
All Mathematics classrooms have interactive screens and computers to assist with teaching and learning.
A link to all the websites we use for teaching in maths can be found on the home page on the Ashley High School website ('Curriculum / Curriculum Websites').
Please support your child at home by practising their Mathematics in everyday situations, e.g. telling the time or shopping.
Students study suitable accredited courses at Entry Level and Level 1 (where appropriate).
