Geography is essentially about the study of places, the human and physical processes which shape them, and the people who live in them. Skills developed through Geography help students to make sense of their surroundings and the ever changing wider world around them.

- the importance of sustainable development.
Geography is taught at the school to KS3 students as part of the Wider World Curriculum through a series of topic based units. These units are:
- Year 7: tectonics, settlement and map skills
- Year 8: World development, a study of Kenya, economic activities, tectonics and Eco systems
- Year 9: A study of Japan, climate change, environmental issues, a local study.
A variety of resources and teaching techniques are used to encourage students to engage in learning and to encourage students to become independent thinkers. Videos, interactive computer software and a variety of textbooks are used both as classroom aids and also in independent research.
Students are made aware of the Global Goals and encouraged to be active global citizens. Students also learn how to reduce their carbon footprint and help slow down global warming.
Assessment is an integral part of the learning process. Students are assessed at the end of each unit and Assessment For Learning is promoted in the classroom.
