PSHCE/P4A

PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education) is at the very heart of Ashley High School's ethos and curriculum. Weekly PSHCE lessons help all our students develop as individuals in a wider society. Our students learn to understand themselves physically, emotionally, socially and sexually and to understand their relationships with others.

PSHCE has strong cross curricular links and is taught within many other areas of the curriculum and through the work of our School Council and various student committees.

At Key Stage 3 and 4 students follow a bespoke programme and cover units including: Relationships, Living in the Wider World, Health and Wellbeing and Careers. In KS3 this is delivered via the P4A curriculum. RSE has been statutory since September 2020. Sessions around Relationships and Sex Education are delivered to all year groups as specified in the Statutory Guidance.
