Return to school - Wednesday 5th January 2022

News

4th January 2022

Hi everyone. We hope that you have all had a good Christmas and New Year and are well rested after the break.
As we return to school tomorrow we thought it best to touch base with you ask and keep you up to date with the latest developments. As you are aware covid rates in Halton and across the UK have risen dramatically. We endeavour to keep all our pupils and staff as safe as possible and contine to follow government and regional advice to minimise any risks as much as possible.
*Children who we have consent for will be lateral flow tested at school tomorrow and Monday. We strongly recommend that in addition you test your child at home today. This eliminates any unnecessary close contacts should someone test positive. Children will stay in form rooms tomorrow morning. This is to ensure we minimise contacts and also to ensure we have staff available to administer testing. The afternoon will return to lessons as normal
**As per the latest guidance masks will be required to be worn in the classroom unless exempt so please try to remember to give your child a mask in the morning. Visors are also acceptable. We hope this is for the shortest time necessary and children who need to take a breather will obviously be allowed to do so. Masks will obviously not be necessary outdoors at break or lunch.
***Please only send in essential items with your child to avoid cross contamination. We will also be continuing to ventilate classrooms so suggest pupils wear an extra layer under their uniforms to keep warm!
****It is essential that in addition to the return to school testing that you contine to test your child at home twice weekly. This helps to prevent the virus from spreading.
If you have any concerns or questions you can phone the school office from 8.30am tomorrow. Anything urgent in the meantime and you can email ashleywidnes@gmail.com.
As ever we thank you all for all your continued and valued support!
